What laptops does SellMyLaptops buy?

How and when will I get paid after sending in my laptop(s)?

Your payment will be sent to you after we receive and evaluate your laptop(s). You will receive your payment in 24 Hrs.
How are the laptops evaluated at SellMyLaptops?
Laptops are evaluated via multiple steps.
The first includes making sure that the model you have selected is accurate compared to the device delivered. We then assess the physical condition of the laptop(s) to see if the category you selected matches its description. We look for scratches, dents, cracks etc. We also look to see if the laptop(s) is real or counterfeit, as well as if there was any tampering with the device. After that, your laptop(s) is checked for water damage and the battery life is also tested. Lastly, we look to make sure that all passwords are removed so we can reset the phone and wipe out all personal information.
If your assessment was accurate, we will send you the money in the method selected. If not, we will offer you a new price, which you can accept, or ask for your item(s) back. Rest assured, at SellMyLaptops, we will always give you the most value for your item.
How is an offer calculated?
Our offer price is calculated based on market demand, product condition, and the forecasted price for your device. Our powerful pricing calculator lets you estimate the value of your device by answering a few simple questions. Taking your time to select the correct responses will help ensure there are no surprise changes to the final value of your device once it is inspected by us.
All offers are subject to our assessment of your item. Rest assured, at SellMyLaptops, we give you the most value for your item.
What happens after I ship?
You can track the progress of your package using the tracking number on the label or in your account. Once we receive your package, it gets scanned into our system the same day. This initiates our awesome notification system which will keep you posted throughout the process via email and SMS (if selected).
Your payment should be on its way within 24 hrs after we receive your package and inspect the condition.
How to get the maximum value for your old laptops?
Check the display?
If it doesn't have dead pixels and discolourations, it could have blemishes from moisture damage if you like to use it in your bathroom or kitchen. It's a good idea to wipe the screen down and check for scratches and even tiny cracks that may have gone unnoticed when covered with a "protective" dirty layer.
Test all the ports and connections?
Use an external device to test USB ports and video ports. Also, test WiFi and Bluetooth connections.
Check for a faulty hard drive:?
You can test your drive in Windows by using CrystalDiskInfo Portable. With older laptops, when you hear a funny noise from the hard drive bay it's very likely that your hard drive is going bad!
Test your device memory:?
You can download a free version of Memtest or use the Windows memory diagnostic tool to check your memory (we use Memtest because it's more precise and efficient).
Test the battery life and charger:?
Make sure the power jack doesn't lose connection when you move the laptop around.
Delete all Passwords?
Don't forget to erase all passwords (BIOS, Windows, etc). Otherwise, your laptop may become useless!
Check Cosmetic and Overall Condition?
When selling a laptop online honesty is crucial, saving both time and money. If you don't disclose something bad about your computer's condition and then sell it on other marketplaces, be prepared to receive it back and pay for shipping both ways. This is a situation you want to avoid!
After a successful online transaction, pack your laptop very well so that the buyer receives it in the same condition you ship it in. Have you seen the crazy YouTube videos about delivery drivers tossing and kicking boxes? We don't want them to handle our packages poorly but you never know...
Include your charger?
Remember to include the charger so that the next person can actually use the laptop you sell.
Clear your data?
Before you ship it off, wipe the hard drive or do a full system reset so you don't pass your private data to the next buyer.
